As a dedicated and passionate sports & race director, Rachid’s positive attitude shapes winning attitudes. He is an inspiration for successful teams to achieve even greater successes.

Rachid states: ‘athletes win because of running with their hearts; money and skills are not enough.’

Rachid Ben Meziane’s ambition is to develop life changing running events worldwide, with a particular interest in the Arab countries.

His energy inspires, sustains and promotes athletes, to achieve their personal best.

Rachid wants to empower people from Africa to achieve results worth-rising their pride and others admiration. He considers and treats athletes as his family, and sustains in them the capacity to overcome their limits and perform wonders.

To preserve the real spirit of sport is another important target of Rachid, so that all can discover the physical, psychological and social benefits disclosed by the regular practice of sports.

Rachid is an AIMS Ambassador and as such has a deep interest in the Association and the purposes it serves.

WORK HISTORY

  • From 2003 up to now:
  • Owner of several races and Director of about 50 local and international races.
  • Elite Manager of Marrakech Marathon, 1st international AIMS race from Africa, taking it back in the official calendar, after 4 years it had been postponed.
  • Organized in Casablanca, the 1st International Half Marathon against terrorism.
  • Started in 2004 the road running races in Africa, Tripoli, Libya: 1st race open for men and women, Bejaia, Algeria, in 2010 Running Challenges in Morocco, Agadir Green Marathon in 2013, Marrakech, Laâyoune, Dakhla, Rahal Memorial of Casablanca, 50 races until today, full AIMS Members.
  • Personal trainer to elite athletes of the Marrakech, Agadir, Valencia, Athens, Santiago, Abu Dhabi’s marathons and half marathons, out of which several world records achievers (from Kenya and other African countries).
  • Member of the Board of Directors at the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races – AIMS and its representative for Morocco and Middle East.
  • Promoter of international running events including, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, UAE, Valencia, Spain, Santiago Chile Marathon.

Former Marathon runner: New York, US (2000), Principality of Monaco (1997), Brabant, Netherland (1991).
Was elected Sport Man of the Year, in Zierikzee, Netherland (1994).
Created the Road Running Club of Benevia (1993).
First road race in Ceuta Spain (1988).
Member of the Race Team of Morocco as a student, and part of the University sport selection, Rabat, Morocco (1986, 1987), prior to that in the school cross selection (1980, 1981).
